UK Public Relations is the University's main point of contact for radio and television stations, newspapers, and magazines.

UKPR regularly produces a number of information resources to help promote news, people and programs at the University:

  • UK Web site includes daily headlines and news archives (see menu at left)
  • Hot Topics, resources for subjects currently receiving national media attention
  • "Events at UK," a calendar of activities on and off the UK campus involving UK organizations or involvement
  • "UK Connection," a weekly feature on WKYT-TV/Lexington
  • "UK in the News," a halftime feature on all tape-delayed TV basketball games
  • "UK at the Half," during every basketball and football radio broadcast
  • Radio news features, sent weekly to 60 Kentucky stations

  • A page of news briefs in every home football and basketball program
  • "PR1," a monthly update for the UK Board of Trustees
  • "UK Infoline," (859-257-5684) a telephone service offering information on campus activities
  • And, subject to restrictions under the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), UK Hospital patient conditions are available 24/7. During the normal hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., calls for assistance should be directed to UK Public Relations, (859) 257-1754 or UK Medical Center Public Relations, (859) 323-6363. After 5 p.m., inquiries should be directed to the staff member on-call by calling (859) 230-9086.
